disappearance of jessica ridge way. that crime scene will exist through the evening into tomorrow morning. >> this happening hours after they cleared jessica's parents as suspects. they believe the girl was abducted. we will learn more at a press conference late they are morning. >> a construction worker finally free after a 5 story collapse in florida. rescuers pulling him out of the rubble a few hours ago. he's in critical condition at a nearby hospital. two workers were killed at least 8 hoars were hurt when the roof came tumbling down. the garage was under construction at the time. one worker is missing. a massachusetts pharmacy suspected in the meningitis outbreak provided tainted method indications. it infected an elderly man of

back teebl meningitis in 92. he died two years later. the pharmaceutical firm with the same owners was accused of not separating sterile and nonsterile supplies. 12 people died from fungal meningitis. more than 130 are sick. alex karis the former defensive lineman passing away after battling kidney disease, heart disease and also dem me think shaw. he was one to sue the nfl for suffering from dementia. he found success in hollywood starred in blazing saddles and the tv series "webster." alex karras was 77 years old. romney had a good night. i had a bad night.

in the latest fox news poll of likely voters. before the debate the massachusetts governor and current wisconsin congressman trailed the president and vice president 43-48. they were down 5. now they are up one. the lead is even larger with critical independent voters. romney ryan were down 4 to romney biden but now they were up 12 with 44 percent with democratic side 32 percent. another key number are the voters were unsure they want somebody else. that number shot up 6 points after the debate. the debates have the potential to move the needle quite a bit. with four weeks to go joe biden has been prepping for his in delaware with chris van holland playing ryan. the president handicapped tonight's big show down. >> joe just needs to be joe.

congressman ryan is a smart and effective seeker but his ideas are the wrong ones. >> ryan has a chance to let voters decide for themselves. he had ted olsen as a stand in. he is trying to shine the spos spotlight on to someone who won't be on the stage tonight, president obama. >> what i am excited about we get to offer the american people a very clear choice. joe biden has been on these big stages before. it's the my first time. he can't run away from president obama's indefensible record. >> in kentucky they will debate at center college. it will have a broad spector of foreign and domestic issues supposed to cover 9 topics 90 minutes. >> that's a lot of ground to kor. take with you later in the show.

tonight's debate is what john sin knew knew is talking about saying both biden and ryan are going to surprise people tonight. >> also reacting to the presidential debate and the comments by president obama that he was just too polite. >> he was too polite? >> let him have his own excuse. i am not going to argue with him. if that's the way he feels. remember there was a report for about a day he thought he had won the debate. with all due respect they are changing their story on everything. changing their story of libya, changing their story on why he lost the debate, changing their story on what's going on in america. this is a desperate presidency. they are going to get tough. it is not going to be an easy four weeks in front of us. you put a lot of polls on the screen. they are going to go up and down on a daily basis.

happened on the attack on our consulate on 9-11. a lot of questions are being raised about the conflicting statements about what happened. a top stateme department offici confirmed he told lawmakers the day after the attack that he believed it was terrorism. that was not the only intense moment on the hill. >> the security in benghazi was a struggle and remained a struggle throughout my time there. the situation remained uncertain and reports from some libyan indicated it was getting worse. diplomatic secretary mained weak. in april there was only one diplomatic security agent living there. >> when i was in libya good part of the day never once did any person once mention a video. never. i am fascinated to know from the president of the united states, from the secretary of state, from the ambassador to the

united nations how they can justify this video caused the attack. >> is the libyan intelligence so much superior than ours they knew it was a terror attack and we are still saying it's the result of a video. >> why in the heck did is it take so long for these highly briefed intelligent people that it wasn't a 15-minute youtube video b it was a ter rigs attack? >> susan rice originally said the events were a spontaneous act. some say it was in response to an anti muslim fill. they pressed jay carney on that issue. >> did she you and others mislead the public because you sdn want to admit there was a terror attack? >> no the president said it was an act of terror immediately

and congressman paul ryan face off. both are expected to come out swinging. here's a question a lot of folks are asking. can a vp debate really be a game changer? let's ask presidential historian nick ragone. thank you for coming up here. can it be a game changer? >> historically it has not been. if you remember began quail had a bad performance against lloyd benson. dukakis won big. dick cheney abodid a nice job against edwards. for the most part people vote for the top of the ticket. in this case maybe vice president biden can change the conversation which would be a win for obama if he could do that. >> who has more to lose going into this tonight? oo evening paul ryan does even though he is inexperienced. it is a huge opportunity to introduce himself. he needs to hold his own. he needs to be seen as somebody who can step in for romney. there's a bit of a stature gap he needs to close that.
